Has anyone bought this longsword? it seems pretty good for its price, almost too good. In fact, has anyone here done business with Windlass before?

If this isn't a good longsword, then could someone recommend another one below $200?

Sam,
Hello and welcome to myArmoury. :) We have around 20 reviews of Windlass products on our Reviews page that are worth checking out. Windlass pieces have been discussed a great deal; many of us have experience with their products. The forum Search button will be a big help. :)

Here's a start:
http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=9290
http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=1730

The general consensus is that Windlass is improving and is probably the best value in the sub-$300 range. Their newer items are generally pretty attractive, pretty durable, and decent handling.

:)

I've spent literally hours searching for info on here and SFI about the Gen2 and MRL Irish swords, but there are truly no hands-on reviews (Bill Tsafa did one review of the Gen2, but they have changed the model since). If anyone actually owns one and uses/used it enough to gauge its quality that would be swell and stupendous and grand. All at once.

I have handled one once at a tourney. It was a nice piece, felt good and looked nice.
Are you scared, Connor?
No, Cousin Dugal. I'm not!
Don't talk nonsense, man. I peed my kilt the first time I went into battle.
Oh, aye. Angus pees his kilt all the time!
