Scottish ball-quillon dagger made by Glenn McClain. The grip is ivory and has a crack running through it (see photos). According to the fellow I purchased it from, the crack was in this ancient piece of ivory when he bought it straight from McClain, so it is not a defect. The crack does appear to be old, stained by mineral deposits. I showed the knife to McClain at the Fort Frederick event this past spring, and he attested to the fact the the grip was made secure to keep the crack from being a problem or making the hilt unstable. Personally, I think it adds quite a bit of character to a grip that would otherwise be very plain looking.
Overall length is 12 1/4" with an 8"blade. Iron mounted, carved leather sheath included.
I am asking $400.00 for it plus $10.00 shipping in CONUS. PayPal adds 3% to cover fees.
