I'm chiming in to say that the Redeemer scabbard is the most beautiful one that I've ever seen.
Historically speaking, that semi-circle on the guard would be thin metal or even leather and would, in fact, allow the throat of the scabbard to slide up under it. Being a fantasy design, however, I elected to make it a more solid feature that extends nearly to the blade surface, leaving no room for the scabbard to slide between it and the blade. Instead, the scabbard throat is shaped for this extension to key into it when the sword is sheathed.
ya know, Maybe im just a little partial because i know Christian better than i know Peter Lyon (but i have spoken with peter via email...), but i acutally like this redeemer BETTER than boromirs sword.
I have really liked Bor's sword since i first saw it, it just really stands out, but there was always something about it that could have been a bit better, i thought. Mainly the guard seemed to be too small in comparison to the HUGE pommel.
i think Christians design put it in better porportions .....
Thanks Angus,
Email sent to Christian, fantastic scabbard,
nice pic mr Stokes,
lee
Oh my God!!! If I had the money I'd buy that sword for the scabbard alone. Awesome job, Christian. It's a perfect fantasy sword.
It is up on Christian Fletchers Page
Redeemer shield... sounds very, very promising.
I wonder if it will be a Boromirish shield?

I'm havin' a little trouble with this sword's popularity. Talked to CF today, and we're already at 10 reservations, and CF had a couple inquiries today.

The Ranger started out slow in comparison. We sold the first five quickly, then it was about 2 a month until last fall, where the rest were reserved fairly quickly.

This time we have half of the total numbers, and the reservations are going a lot faster........

{Shaking head}

And the Ranger King blade is in CF's hands now...........

Sigh.........

What's the problem with popularity? Just consider it job security.

I love the belt. I hope a similar one will be availiable for normal order too.
Picked up first five blades from heat treat yesterday. Rough grinding them today, and its going well. I expect to have these assembled and ready to ship to CF on Monday, he should have the first ones by Thursday or Friday next..........

I've just got to pipe in and say that the redeemer is one damn nice sword. In fact, it's one of the best looking fantasy swords I've seen to date. Well done Gus and Christian.
Gotta agree with you, Jay.

I got a chance to handle Josh's Redeemer at the last portland vancouver area gathering.. Really a fine chunk of steel, nice fuller, good finish. The hilt work is first class, and the sword and scabbard are about as perfect of a match as could be. I can understand why this ones more popular than the ranger.. It has good mojo.

Durn fine work from all involved.

Had not really bought fantasy to date, and thought I was only going to do really custom from now on. But there is something about this sword, and the shield has my anticipation up too!

So now there are only 5 left!

heres one Christian sent me of the Redeemer, laying along side a ranger and to the right of the Ranger my Elvenized Leaf Blade.

I'm dying to know how Christian got the leafblade scabbard to look so danged thin.
I made one for my 2103 out of birch and it looks like a Zeppelin prop blade compaired to his.

Very nice work, Christian.
