Thank you :-)
Sabatons are made by Miroslav Valenta, but I had to modify them a little to fit well. He also made the cuirass and the arm protection, and I didn't have troubles with them. There are much better armourers in the Czech republic I could recomend.

Metropolitan Museum italian sallet, riveted mail and some ribs addet to old cuirass, to make it more interesting.
The general idea is to reconstruct the look of 1480-90's condottiere from Venice. I'm using museum sources and paintings of the period.

Not wearing arms protection with mail because I was too lazy and, an the moment picture is taken, a have a broken arm - just went off the bohurt and it hurts.

Two first pictures are taken on L'Ultima Frontiera festival near Caucasus mountains this may and third on Border Fortess festival near St.-Petersburg last august.
The drawing should resemble hot it will look like when i'll be not too lazy to wear full gear.

Interested in opinions.

Well I've had a bit of luck with the last two shopping hauls and am now in a spot where I'd call my Yorkist Softkit complete. It is far from done - if I ever get to the point where I feel it is done at all - and I've already got plans (and open commissions) to expand and alter this kit.

But since it's in a spot where I'm very happy with it and I found some white roses along the way I usually walk the dog (who likes the heat even less then I do, at least this oppressive, stuffy heat we've had today) I thought the opportunity perfect for a couple of snapshots.

Me in my hand gunner kit looking grimey after a 5 days campaign. The dent in the chestplate is a souvenir from a dane axe swung at full tilt. Hardened Swedish steel! Börk börk!

Nice kit!

You look fine to me. But it's good to get a little dirty; it's jarring to see people dressed in historic attire that looks like it just got machine-washed.

Here is my recently finished hauberk I've been working on the last two years.

It is made of handmade wedge-riveted rings with varying wire thickness. It's thickest on the torso and thinner furher down and on the sleeves. Wire thickness before flattening was 2mm, 1,75mm and 1,5mm. Ring size is 9mm.

It expands from the waist down and has a frontal slit with overlapping ends and is closed at the back and has a change in weave direction on the sleeves.

The weave is very strong, the thickest part could resist a lance blow with a graper and had only one ring breake and without the rivet failing.

Love it! Looks very Italian! Is that Italian Gothic?

Thank you. It's mostly Italian export for the Flemish market, based on an English brass effigy.
Here's a video I took of it in action last week, although with spaulders instead of pauldrons and with my new armet: http://youtu.be/Qpi_njVoIzE

Man that is some good armor! Who made them for you?

Right now I am getting Parker to making me a German Gothic front & back Cuirass.
I will have it like just like this(I showed him this pic):

When he starts on the back, I want it to look just like this (I will show him the back plate very soon):

Made from 1055 Steel then heat treated. (but I wanted 4100 steel alloy)

The mild steel armors I have I want him to case harden them.

How do I put a pic I have to show the what I have?

I've never heard of Parker, does he have a website?
Very daunting that you chose the Sigismund armour to work with. The pictures you posted are from Will West's website and it's the armour he made for Mark Caple. It is THE best replica or dare I say, the ONLY replica of that harness that comes close to the original.
If I were you I'd still ask your armourer to work from photo's of the original instead of from a replica.
Another thing to consider is that you'll limit yourself considerably when you're going for this style. This armour was owned by an Archduke, and it's style is very distinct. This suit is the pinnacle of the 'gothic' style and to mix and match it with other parts would be detrimental in my opinion.
Will you also do the gilded filework edging?

Since you asked, my armour is an amalgam made by lots of different armorers, which takes very careful planning to make sure everything will work together.
The legs are by Stanislav Prosek, CZ
The maille is from india, but customized by malienkolders.nl, NL
The cuirass is by Mark Vickers, UK
The pauldrons also by Mark Vickers, UK
The spaudlers are by Stanislav Prosek, case hardened mild steel, CZ
The arms are by Historic Enterprises, US
The current gauntlets are by White Rose, UK
My next gauntlets will be second hand gauntlets by Emrys, UK
The sallet and bevor are by Albert Collins, SE
The grand bascinet with exchange visor is also by Albert Collins, SE
The armet is by Per Lillemund-Jensen, DK.

Ah, I didn't realise you were part of the joust team at Arundel! I was with the group doing the foot combat. Nice harness, and the jousting was superb!

Ah cool! I've been helping out as ground crew for two years and finally got to joust this year. It's such a special event for me.

Yes, this is the same one I want him to make. That picture will be the main model for the Gothic armor I want. I like how the Gothic armor looks on this, (I know it was from Will West's website)

So you have different parts made by different armorers?

Yes, here is his site. http://www.crescentmoonarmoury.net/Crescent_M...moury.html

This is my Munition infantry armor set. I should get a crossbow or a gun with that! LOL two different Munition sallets.
The one with the blue sallet was in a house party; people went crazy over my armor LOL (my buds to me to go in with my armor on LOL!!!) This armor was made in Wrights Armory (as you can see in the first pic I was in there)

Finally I’ve got a pair of decent gauntlets to go with this kit!
I’m very happy with the current look, the next step will probably be pauldrons some day.

The armour is from Via Armorari. Hardened. The axe hit the center ridge of the breastplate so hard I had bruises on my hips and on my shoulders. The dent is a bit deeper than it looks like, but it definately is a functional piece of armour.

From my first sca war.
I'd be the fella in blue and bacinet and anachronistic gambeson. It's a start and everything but the helm and the hose will be changed for better thinga in the relatively near future. But hey, I've fought in armour ^^

The helmet is mine, the armour (made by Albert Collins) is own by a friend and so is the Sword (scabbard made by me).

My 13thC harness I have been playing with the last 6 months or so. This is new mail and helm with some older bits and pieces I have had for years.

Cheers
