A very good possible for using as a cutter. The buy it now a reasonable price for a sound sword. These are of the British 1821 cavalry trooper look, also the base the idea of American 1833 dragoons. Later 19th century.

A quite good American Starr 1812 model cavalry sword. It has lingered for some months now with a couple of reductions in starting price. Most of the shiny ones are that way because of cleaning and lack most (if not all) of the japanning.

:wtf:
Definitely in the right place at the wrong time
This fellow has been selling some very nice eagle pommel swords and others. Waiting years to see if he'd post an Osborn spadroon and now he does after I already found a lesser example. I'd jump on both that and the Thurkle without hesitation but other bills have taken priority.
I could hope they stay in the extended family of forumites.

No doubt he may have more treasures but it seems to me he must be clearing out the safe.

For historical reference, I've saved the photos and added them to the Medieval Knife Questions thread, which contained a discussion about tubular rivets, and seemed relevant to add there.
