Very nice looking sword.
Good to know about their production times. I was just thinking about putting a downpayment on one of their swords with the idea that I'd have a few months to save up the rest. I guess I'd need to save up a little faster...

Hi Jesper
That is certainly a gorgeous sword. Have lots of fun with it!
Wojciech Szanek even seem to have planning to have his webpage in Danish soon [not working yet] besides Polish and English...Guess he expect a “viking invasion of sword orders“ .

When he shows his work - as your swords - around in Denmark, it's no wonder....
So for other interested the Trelleborg Viking festival (and Szanek's swords) will be from the 11-19th July 2015.

This must be the “Hospitalsengen 2“ sword from Randers Parish [and another gorgeous Szanek sword]
Original can be seen in pictures here from the Nationalmuseum: [same pommel and guard, but the original is not a longsax, but double-edged]

It says “trekantet fæsteknap af jern, sølv, kobber, messing“ so the pommel and guard must be iron and then decorated with silver, copper and brass. [Probably misunderstood: You meant the Szanek sword was cast in bronze?]
So finds from Aarhus -> probably used by people from Aarhus; hence your problem with it
[So you prefer going to Trelleborg, than Moesgaard then ]

indeed not, moesgaard is my main market (im from aarhus myself) but i cannot find much documentation on local finds. and moesgaard museum's viking exhibition is not exactly informative

I just took ownership of this Albion Condottiere that I purchased from the Classifieds. It is truly a beautiful sword and very different than most of what I currently have in my collection which tend to be bigger wider and usually earlier swords (SL Clontarf, Templar, Senlac, Baron, Count).
I am really taken by the ricasso design and the thin etching the runs parallel to the fuller and ends in the arrow point design, plus the hexagon blade is fast becoming my favorite blade cross section.

Albion hit a Home Run with the Condottiere. It's fast, and beautiful, and they really got it right with the etching.

My latest and last sword for awhile,(I know, we all say that.) is an early 1780's Heavy Cavalry Variant for an officer. The English had very broad ideas about Heavy and Light cavalry designations in the 18th and early 19th century. Blade is 35 inches long and 1.5 at the forte.

The Celtic Longsword from Albion's Bare Blades line.
I'm waiting on a quote from Yeshua's Sword to see how much they'll ask to fit it with an accurate La Tene hilt.
I'm willing to pay extra for high-quality work, but my budget has limits, unfortunately.
I also got one of Cold Steel's English bills recently. Not bad for $100, but definitely a little large for my apartment. I'm looking forward to cutting practice with it, though.

After watching and drooling for many years I have finally been able to add to this forum the very first two of my collection. The Albion Reeve and the Nielo Migration Era Sword. Both of these swords are for lack of a better word amazing.
The Albion Reeve is light, fast, and wonderful to handle and cut with. The blade is light almost like nothing is there when swinging and razor sharp.
The Nielo is a brute. It is slightly blade heavy but that's to be expected with the mostly wood, bone/antler, and bronze handle. For all this it doesn't handle to bad. I love the look of the hammered blade while not perfect like the Reeve it has a character all to its own. The edge needs some improving but nothing i can't handle my self. I believe a little work and this could be a really fine sword in my opinion it already is.
Something about these early swords raises an eyebrow every time i see one and to start my collection with these only makes me want more. Already saving to give Albion some more of my money.
