Studio M Polish Saber

This is part of my "Help pay the myArmoury.com hosting bills" drive.

This sword represents an early 17th century Polish Hussar saber. It was made by Sczepan Twardoch of Studio M of Poland. Mr. Twardoch isn't in the swordmaking business any longer, apparently.

It has a 35" blade, 1.5" wide at the base, 4.25" grip. It weighs 2.4 pounds. There is a knuckle-guard and a thumb-ring. The blade's spine is fullered just like it's supposed to be: a detail not present in many reproductions. Black leather grip with wire wrapped over.

I've become quite interested in the Hussars and would like to keep this piece and augment my collection with more items of the type, but my financial situation dictates that something has to go and this is one of the many things that have had to go to pay the bills for this hobby.

Asking price: $325 US, includes shipping CONUS

I prefer PayPal.

This shouldn't have to be. Worried

All of us who are a part of this online community know what a rare gem it is-- we have all benefited immensely, I am sure, from the breadth and depth of knowledge provided by the community and by the site itself.

Can I suggest that those of us who may not yet be contributing think about it again? Nathan shouldn't have to sell off bits of his collection so that we can enjoy this site without cost...

You can find out more here: http://www.myArmoury.com/contribute/

Cheers,

David

It's been brought to my attention that my last comments " seem " to
question the authenticity or value of Nathan Robinson's Polish Saber.

Nothing could be further from the truth !

I had actually seen this sword for sale on another forum and " regretted "
... let me repeat " regretted " not picking it up at the time. If I recall correctly
I had passed on the item because it did not have a scabbard, and my funds
were currently directed at another project. But I can DEFINITELY recall going
back to that thread over and over and over ... B-)

SOLD, if not already. I can have your funds tomorrow, simply specify the email address.

There was sure a lot more interest in this weapon than I had expected. I should have asked more money for this one. Happy I wish there were other sources for such sabers but unfortunately there aren't many quality repros to be had. This is not the forum for a discussion on this, so if you feel compelled to discuss these weapons let's do so in the main forum.

I want to mention that this is no longer part of the "Help pay the myArmoury.com hosting bills" drive. We've paid for that and so this money was used to help my own financial situation. I also sold a camera and lens recently which has allowed me to secure a review sample which will likely be sold soon to recoup the expense.

Thanks for your interest.

PS: To Matthew G.M. Korenkiewicz, I didn't read your comment as being offensive or questioning of the value of this item or anything like that, but I thank you for your clarification nonetheless and to the person who brought it to your attention.
