A strange 18th century sporran with four concealed pistols.
Hello everybody,

I saw some interesting information on a website (http://heritage.scotsman.com/traditions.cfm?id=726222005) about a 18th century Scottish sporran (the equivalent to a Scotman's pocket today) that had four concealed flintlock pistols contained within it as a lesson for thieves back then. It appears that somebody went to a great extent to teach those individuals. I also found it interesting that Sir Walter Scott was also inspired by this pistol-firing sporran. Enjoy! :)

Thanks,
Todd
Holy exploding bazooka boots, Batman! I wonder if it was ever fired.
Good god! You'd want to make sure you had it on the right way round ! Otherwise one good jolt on your horse that'd be the end of your clan blood-line pretty sharpish. Cool find - thanks for that. Crime prevention Highland style.
Hoots man, I kan nay think o' the recoil !
