Lamellar Helmet Question
Hello All!

For a long time I have liked the look of lamellar body armour. I saw a very interesting lamellar helmet and I have kind of developed an "itch" to try to make one for myself.

Does anyone have any construction information about this type of helm? Thickness, dimensions, blueprints, book references, any information would be appreciated. Here are a couple of pictures of the helm in question.

Also, is there a specific name/ classification for this helm?

Its early in the morning and I'm thinking off the top of my head here. Helmets off that type were worn by the Huns, Alans etc in the 5th-6th century AD, right? It's a beautiful piece, it would look excellent at "Late-Roman" re-enectments.
The German re-enactment group Ulfhednar, make their own. Try http://www.ulfhednar.org/frame.htm

they will be able to help you.

It is interesting how closely that lamellar construction resembles early Greek boar's tusk helmets.
