Pictures of crossbows from "Tøjhusmuseet" in Copen

very nice! Looking at the early gun (which i9s one of the earliest I have seen) They could be useful as clubs or maces if they fail to work fairly well.....

Nice pictures. The dates are intriguing - if I understand the captions (?!) the "hornbue" is a composite crossbow, dated to 1500, which sounds rather late. Also, there is a "krigs-armbrost" which I take to be a military crossbow dated to 1600, also rather later than I thought typical.
