Well in Medieval terms yes when getting to 40 was a challenge and people got married at 14 ( At least girls did ).

The nobility with better nutrition and not working in the field and in the Sun all day probably aged well and might still feel and look good at 40 but a peasant or a fisherman would look " ancient " at 40.

Oh, to get back ON topic your son sure look like you in those wedding picture when you were at similar ages.
Age has nothing to do with it...its the grandpa status and the wisdom that goes with it. :D
Congrats
Congratulations Patrick

Truly one of the best experiences in life. May your family all find joy and happiness in the new arrival

Keep well my friend

Supercute, very very cute. :D ( Had to add a couple of cutes because I would be just repeating what Geoff wrote: The next person will have to add even more to be original. ;) )

The shot of the parents is also cute. :D
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

Congrads!!!
Is 40 kinda young to be a grandpa? It is for me! But my sister was about that same age when she became a grandma....

Can we call you "Grandpa" Kelly now? :p
Congratulations Patrick. I just know that you're going to be the spoilin' kinda Grandpa.
Congratulations Pops! God this is scary, considering you are 9 years younger than me, I must be ancient! Very nice pictures and a proud grand dad you must be. I thought I was going to be reading about that new dirk or a sword when I first read the title, then it occured to me, hey he has a grand child on the way, this must be it! Good looking son and your daughter in law is quite attractive! I also liked the photo of you and your betrothed from 22 years ago.

My Most Sincere Congratulations to you Patrick!

Bob
You have a beautiful granddaughter there, Patrick. Congratulations!

Congratulations Patrick!
 She look's little like you
Welcome to the Fold, Patrick! I made it to this point almost two years ago (October 16 is my little grandson's birthday), and it's amazing how much you can love such a little imp, who you barely know, yet adore. Funny how these things work. The only downside is distance, and not being able to have your little grandchild with you all the time. That bit hurts, but you make up for it when you do get to hold them.

Now you can get back at your son for all the stinky things he did as a kid, by spoiling heck out of Rayne! :D Paybacks are FUN! (Helps your kids to earn some grey hair of their own, LOL!)

Cheers!

Gordon
