looking for information on Koncher,a Russian Sword
does anyone out there have any pictures or information on a Russian Koncher,a rapier type of sword from the 14th-15th Century.I cannot turn anything up online so far, hoping that someone may be able to help.
Maybe you could try the alternative spellings or the relatives of the term in the other Eastern European languages. The search on the Polish "koncerz" in particular is most likely to yield fruitful results.

This is about the best I could find, looks like it's in Kremlin's armory collection.

According to description, this particular piece was used as a ceremonial weapon and is shorter than the ones used in battle. It also appears it was made in Turkey, although it's not very clear if they talk about this particular piece or the origin of the weapon itself. Apparently it was used to puncture holes through mail when pursuing a fleeing enemy, and was a secondary weapon, sabre being a primary one. Don't know if it's accurate, though.
Gene,
thank you so much for those,do you have any links to the pics,so that i can get some more detail? Its for a customer who has the surname Koncher, seems to be a quite obscure style. Thanks again.
It's from this page - most of it in Russian, though. They do have English version of the site but it's rather limited.

It's in the exhibition of Catherine the Ist reign (after 1725 IIRC).
