These hangers did not use a baldric. The British army used waistbelts with a dounble frog. The early ones had a sliding frog and the later ones were fixed in place. On the march, muskets were usually slung and the waistbelts were slung over the right shoulder for convenience. Fixed shoulder belts were not common until after the period of the American Revolution although some transitional shoulder belts with a single from were used by both the Americans and the Brits. Since you are referring to the so-called "1742" or single guard brass hilted hanger (which is a spurious designation by the way; the so-called "model" simply refers to some paintings from the early 1740s showing single guard hangers. There was never an official model designation. Every regiment had its own provately made patterns.), I am supposing that you want a mid-century suspension system. If so, there are many sources. Oh, by the way, if you're looking for authentic Brit, the so-called "buff" leather belts will be double split latigo. Real English "bandsman's buff" is really difficuly to find and very expensive. Jim Klader at the Harness Shop inh Colonial Williamsburg could give you a hand if you want to go that route.
