The price on these came down a bit ($482 at KOA) and I couldn't resist it any more...

I don't think it quite matches the proportions of the original - I don't have detailed measurements but I wouldn't be surprised if the hilt on the repro is a bit bigger (it seems quite large, and it's overall about 1.5" longer than the original). I haven't weighed it, but I think it's probably also several oz heavier.

The other thing that sticks out on a close examination is the etching on the blade - I'm not positive how it was done (laser etching?) but it definitely doesn't look authentic up close. I don't think that's particularly unreasonable given the price point, though.

Quibbles aside, it's a very pretty sword, and I like it quite a bit so far.

I think the hilt (except the size) is excellent done.
