A gentleman from years back (based on an inquiry of mine on SFI) emailed me today to let me know he put this up for auction - an early AT1312 in need of some TLC. For the price, if I was in the market, I wouldn't have thought twice, but alas. . .

Thought I would let all the folks that play with project swords in on a deal - ebay item number 290508080997

Howard Curtis's Book 2.500 Years of European Helmets: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem...0690792442 .

I remember when you couldn't find this book for less than $200. Now you can find cheaper copies like this (with no dust jacket) and others for under $100.

Happy

Really?! Eek!

I didn't know that thing was so valuable. Maybe I just make a color copy of mine and sell the book. Laughing Out Loud

Thanks for the link to ZVAB, Arne - looks like a good possible source for German-language books - that copy of the Durer book is very cheap compared to the others I've seen recently.

On the other hand, ZVAB are listing a new copy of Europaische Hieb Und Stichwaffen for US$435, when ABE currently has a dozen secondhand in the $20-40 range (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults...=0&y=0).

Anyway, back on topic! Happy

For those really into their authenticity there are two Norman era helms raised from one piece (not welded halves) going on ebay this week.
