picture Renaissance Armies: The Scots
On the page: Renaissance Armies: The Scots you can see some Scottish soldiers wearing typically Scottish weapons and dress. I have a question about one of them: the (B) 16th Century Highlander with "skull", bow, targe and claymore, wearing leine.

Is he based on a historical picture or e description?
The bow, "claymore", and targe seem to be a bit much.

I've always thought that myself about this drawing. Same goes for the guy with lochaber axe and targe. IMO whoever drew these, just heard of the kinds of weapons highlanders used, but never actually seen them in person.
