I dont think it would make that much difference, shure the average Modern man may be taller than our medieval bretheren but as whole I bet we are much much wussier (is that a word) Our cubicle dwelling chair sitting butts would not last long back in the day. If we went out and chopped wood everyday, plowed feilds with a horse, and had no powertools or cars bet then we could use larger and heavier weapons than people from long ago.

I am a strong guy for my size but my endurance sucks... If I tried walking around and fighting in mail it would be rough at first.

Excellent point about child hood nutrition.

Problem that exists still today, unfortunately. Africa is beset with problems along this line. But let's not go there, way too depressing. Congo, Sudan, etc.
