So I broke a sledge hammer and...
So I broke a sledge hammer the other day. It broke at the junction where the shaft meets the 10lb hammer head. I replaced the broken shaft with a fiberglass one. Now I just have this shaft ...

I really wanna turn it into a weapon :D

The shaft is about 3 feet long. Any ideas what I could do with it? I'm not a blacksmith or anything, so whatever I do would have to be simple. I would love to be able to turn it into something semi-histirical, if possible.
Iron-shod club, perhaps?
Get thee to Fastenal! Or Home Depot. Or something.
The broken handle is probably oval in section, yes? Maybe two 1-1/4" and two 1/2" wide strips of mild steel, 12 - 18" long, drilled at regular intervals and attached with some kind of studs, maybe wood screws with the heads ground or filed into something more intimidating? Or just skip the steel langets and stud the heck out of it with the fattest rose-head nails you can find, add a wrist thong and plop a watermelon on the old cutting stand (or a pumpkin. Heck, neither of those are in season...).

The Parisian police of the 18 C. were supposedly equipped with some kind of "mallet" for riot-control situations, some folks have speculated that these were a simple wooden club with iron facings of some kind.
Cheers!

A 3 foot stick
Sounds like it could be a fine shillelagh. A little shaping and you have the very thing.

cheers
