Is this a copy or a cheap version?
Hello everyone!

I found this sword among a bunch of cheap decorator swords, does it not look like the Godfred Viking sword from CAS-iberia? But much cheaper? The grip is different and the blade is not folded, but the model and scabbard the same...have not found it on CAS-webpage...
Can anyone help me out, a copy or what?

The one I found:

The Original Godfred Viking:

Best regards/

Looks like a "knock-off" to me.

The Hanwei model has a much more defined leather wrap on the hilt and what appears to be three brass rivets each at the pommel and the guard - the other has only two and does not seem to have as nice a wrap. Also, while it may just be the photos, the details on the Hanwei seem "sharper" and cleaner.

Just my 2 pence.
Both cheap and copy. Pictures can be very deceiving. Note there is no description of the blade material, and precious little other description.

The same website has a section on "functional swords", with a number of MRL pieces, and also some Knights Edge stuff, and none of those prices are especially cheap for those pieces.
It's a copy. The Hanwei version has a damascus pattern visible in the fuller and the leather on the hilt is braided. I can't see either of those features on the picture. The Godfred is actually a decent sword. I bought one four or five years ago. It's still one of my favorities. The copy is also in the catagory of "decorator swords". That's always a warning to the wary.
