This sword belongs to a mate of mine, Kris Young. It's a German longsword designed for amoured combat.
Some specs:
40 inch hand forged, hollow ground, diamond section blade with 3 inch ricasso.
The blade has a very stiff thrusting spine with a distal taper from 8 down to 5mm
Weight 1.45Kg Balance point 7.5 inches in front of guard
Completed sword without scabbard AUD$980
Scabbard is Leather over timber with iron mounts and belt.
Total Price (AUD) - $1660
The scabbard is actually a really cool royal blue that shows up beautifully in direct light.

Neat sword, thanks Taylor.
I really like this one, except for the ricasso. Very nice pommel.

I agree.. I friggin' love this sword..
It looks fantastic with the scabbard and belt. Though not typically a fan of a blade with a ricasso on swords without compound guards, it somehow works for me here. I actually quite like the look of the ricasso with the hollow ground edge transitioning into it. It's odd looking.. quite unique.. which is generally enough to get me to like it!

To me this one suspiciously looks sort of like an XVIIIe or something very close to it. You will have an XVIIIe eventually Nathan you will. I can feel it in the force.

Yes, I recognize the pommel, I helped cut it out( the Oakeshott V). The two swords I posted are both Tinker's, the first I re-hilted( with much grateful assistance from Erik Stevenson), the second is as made from Michael. In fact, the grip leather on Nathans French Bastard sword( the maroon hilt) is from the hide I bought to do my XVIIIb and XVIIIe with. Erik is an amazing craftsman, and your XVIIIe's are some damn fine pieces. Congratulations to us Both!!

Sorry, the first one is as from Michael. While the second one, the thin bladed one, is the one I rehilted. Sorry about that, I thought I had them in reverse order.

Wow, James I didn't know that you had been working with Erik. I guess you already saw the blades and everything on those swords them.  Anyway I still love the type and am very tempted to be contacting those guys at Manning about the sword posted above. It certainly fits right up my alley.

more like I was there working on my own blades, and offered to help cut out the pommel as repayment for Erik helping shape the grip core on my XVIIIb. At the time, I only a new pommel was being worked on, this was after he had shipped out the blades.

Lol I wonder if you worked on pommel number 2 or number three. I'm thinking Erik was getting as heartily sick of that sword as I was before it was completed.
