Product Review: 15th century eating set by Marcin Sobala
Around christmas Time I snapped up an eating knife set made by relative newcomer to the forum Marcin Sobala of https://www.facebook.com/marcin.soballa http://www.soballaknives.pl/. $230 and a few weeks later I got a package in the mail today and boy am I impressed :D

http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=31251 the original listing with some better photographs not taken by my potato camerphone that do the knife justice.

Blade dimensions are 1" by 5 7/8" with a 3 7/8" grip. The blade has essentially no flex and is about 3/32" at it's widest point. Straight from the box it was WICKED sharp. It can bisect sheets of note paper and cut through business cards the thin way like nothing is in front of it. (I just need a steak worthy of a $200 knife now  )

The pricker is very beautiful; Practically art deco in looks. It comes to an absolute needle point and slides seamlessly into the lines of the excellently designed sheath

The sheath is adorned with quatrefoil patterns mimicking the silver pins of the knife and pricker with a pricker pocket hidden at the front. There is a single well executed stitch going up the back. This sheathe was custom made to fit the pattern and styling of the knife at my request, but I left the final result up to marcin and I can definitely say I'm satisfied.

I'm immensely happy with the purchase and intend to use it for decades to come.

The knife set shipped in a stained wooden box stuffed with lathe shavings, which is a top notch touch in my book. I wasn't expecting it at all when I recieved the package but calling it a pleasant surprise is quite an understatement.

The shavings replaced with a piece of cut felt. The wood box Marcin shipped it in works perfectly as a display case.
Very nice! I remember that one and was tempted by it also. Glad it went to a good home. Great set.
I am not surprised by the conclusion ot this review at all ;) Marcin is a very talented maker.
Not only he makes crisp pieces, he also uses high quality steel (properly heat treated).

Here you can watch one of Marcin's knives being tested (or rather abused... )
