Sword that I should have bought, budget be damned----I should have bought that light double-fullered La Tene blade from Peter this past October and had him hilt it up in late insular style mix. I should have found the way to make that work. Kicking myself for that still.

As it is, I am likely going to get a NextGen--high end Viking, Kern, or one of the Longswords.

Because credit card payment and/or "payment plan" means you don't *have* to be able to afford it right away :D :D :D

I was in the same boat with that one Nate. The only thing that kept me from grabbing it was your interest in it. Thank you for that. :D I didn't even discuss price and project with Peter because I knew I'd cave in, and mamma wouldn't have been happy with the Big Kahuna.

It will make someone a fine sword to be sure.

Yes, at the time I was being a Responsible Adult, because I knew I had something sizeable already riding on my card. Instead of paying in full (I do like Jean does usually) I should have taken the chance and just paid some interest on the card.

I have been sort of haunted by passing that one up ever since. :\

Ya just said that to drive me crazy, didn't ya  . Well whoever got it, I hope the utter ba...I mean the lucky fellow will come online and post pictures here.

kick kick kick kick kick (that would be me still kicking myself)
The Albion Tritonia has been calling to me for some time, and I can feel my resistance slowly fading.
I'll probably cave far sooner than I should.

As I have said before, if I'd hadn't purchased this one from Peter Johnsson..................

.....I would have bought the Tritonia. It's a great and very unique recreation.

Can't argue with you there. :D

After I get the Talhoffer, I'll only need one more Albion Mark to join the collector's club... after that, I don't think I can manage any swords for awhile. Now to pick my next Albion...

Well the deed is done and I made my order for the A&A Twohander official.

So I guess I lied, I Can afford it ! Only I really should slow down now before I really CAN'T ........ LOL.

I guess I could call this as unwise but not tragic overspending as I will still pay down my credit card bill at the end of the month in full as usual.

(Haven't paid a cent in credit card interest yet! )

Congratulations Jean! Of course you will be the death of me. Now you have me thinking about that two hander even though I've currently got a Sword of St. Maurice on order with A&A as well as a dagger and possibly a custom project.
Congrats, Jean! Now to start casting about for things I can't live without, but hadn't realized until I see it. Hmmm... Armour.... :surprised:

Dang, this "He who dies with the most toys, WINS!" competition will be the death of me...

:D

Cheers,

Gordon
My guilty pleasure for the past 4 yrs has been Arms & Armor's Edward III. Droooool. I've got a list of "swords I must own before I die." Another is Albion's Baron. Chad has one that hopefully I'll get to meet this spring. -Ted

Don't know if you are aware, but Chad is having a Round Table on 3/19.

Check the OT forum for details if you have not already. :D
I know. It should be a lot of fun. Afterwards, I'll probably end up calling Mike at Albion and tell him "just send me one of each!" :D -Ted
Probably the Ritter or the Sword of St. Maurice.
Choices choices
I am currently trying to decide between an Albion Knight or a Caithness and am getting close to having the funds. As far as budget be damned goes though....that might depend on what Tinker brings to the Blade show this year :D
My next sword is still just a twinkle in Peter Johnsson's eye...:p

Greetings All, I would have to confess I did purchase the Albion Squire Line Viking that showed up on the Marketplace not to long ago. :D I couldn't let that one pass. ;) It should show up this week. :D Sincerely, Patrick Fitzmartin
A & A 15th century Twohander is in transit / credit card has taken the hit: Life insurance cancelled for the Cash value.

Money OUT / Money IN to cover recent lack of restraint.

More armour already on order from Mercenary's Tailor, Gambison & books yet to order, half a dozen Osprey books Men-At-Arms series I also want to get: At least more money coming in than going out ! ............. LOL.
Jean, Stop Now while you still can! It'll Kill you!

Wait, you can always just put me in your will! If so, go ahead and KEEP SPENDING! :D

Happy Thoughts! ;)

Gordon
I made my reservation today for an Albion Armorers Aquilifer today. Considering I'm also trying to get a certain new custom project under way and am waiting for two custom projects to finish up (hopefully in May, although they're already paid for), I'm kind of going a bit overboard.

... But ask me if I feel like that when she arrives. :)
Call Mike at Albion and ask him just how hard he had to twist my arm to get me to add that Regent to my order of 2 15th C Bastards... :p

Now, if only that rumor of a hefty bonus for my, um, "work above and beyond" (and I get PAID for this? Hell, it was fun!) will come through... How's that Sword Collector's Club "frequent buyer" program go again? Buy 6, get 1? I'm seriously in SO MUCH trouble...

At least I'm in great company!
