Yep, all the nifty spear designs that Steven did were first carved in wooden models, that were very good as to thicknesses, lengths, etc. (Steven has since improved them even from those models).
However, when these were sent to India (International Steelcrafts?), they were cast in double or treble weight, in bronze rather than steel, and with solid sockets (no hole at all :eek: )
It's a darn shame, b/c I think a number of people would have loved to have readily available, unique spear designs of reasonable accuracy. I know I bugged Mike about the spears for probably 18 months or so "when are the Celtic spears coming, Mike, when, huh? Huh? " :D
I finally got a couple though, and hand-forged and all, too.
