Has anyone handled Military Heritage's Blucher Saber reproduction? How does it compare to the original's?
Havng recently gotten Huttons "Cold Steel" I am anxious to begin practicing the techniques, would this repro be adequate?

I owned one for a while. I found it to be a fairly soild piece. Overall it exhibited the same level of munitions grade fit and finish that I've seen on trooper grade originals of the type. Cold Steel sells the same sword for considerably more, and I consider it a good buy from Military Heritage.

What about the accuracy as far as weight, balance etc?

I have seen Blucher sabers advertised all over the place at wildly varying prices. Is there any difference in quality? And, do they all come from the same place? I don't mind paying more for a better quality piece, but is Cold Steel's sword a better sword or just better hype?

Patrick--- Thanks much, that's what I needed to know. Cold Steel wants $379 for it and Military Heritage wants $179 for the same one. That's quite a difference! A few dollars, I can understand, but that's ridiculous!

I have seen the Cold Steel DVD, but a long time ago. They sent me a catalogue with it in it and shortly after that my player broke down. But from what I remember it was impressive.

Thanks for your email.

Our 1796 Light Cavalry sabers are sold out but are in transit to us from the supplier, and we expect them to arrive next week.

We use a different manufacturer from our completion..
We have not handled our completions sword and can not comment on their quality.

Our swords are made from good quality carbon steel, and will hold an edge,(if required). Full tang.
They can certainly be used for stage and are battle
ready, however, beating even the highest quality swords together is going to
cause them damage.

So maybe they are of good enough quality to be useable and I don't mind cleaning up the finish of something that is sound. They seem to be up-front about their product and I like that.

I owned an MH 1796 pattern for a while. I also had the chance to compare it side by side with the Cold Steel version. If they aren't made by the same company I couldn't tell.

IMHO the MH offers a good price for this sword whereas the CS version is grossly overpriced for the quality.
