This gentleman does some very interesting tests of faithfully recreated arrows against some decently made linen jacks and mail, and has rather criminally low views for such a good work, so I thought I should link it on MA for discussion.

Lots of interesting things happening.

One video clearly shows that the quality of linen fabric, particularly it's density makes big difference in resistance to arrows.

The other video shows, among other things, that even mail made from very thin wire can actually completely roll the point of very thin needle bodkin. Kind of bodkin that was often thought to be "optimal" against mail.
