A while ago I fell in love with the swiss sabre ... first the early types and later the spectrum of different designs from the plain early ones to the extremely decorated later ones. I contacted the finnish sword smith JT Palikko and he agreed to make a swiss sabre for me. It isn't entirely based on a single historical sabre but ended up a mix of two with a big twist of JT on top :-)
Here are two pictures that JT sent me (that made my jaw drop)!
The preliminary stats are:
Weight: 1650 grams
Length: 1,15 meters
POB: 10 cm from the crossguard

Such beauty! The flowermotif can also be seen on the leather grip

The angle of the shot distorts the blade somewhat

Søren, that's one lovely piece!
Given the stats, it should be light in the hand, and quite lively.
Do you have any pictures of the pieces that inspired you to commission this piece?

Here's the result of 5 seconds of Google-searching: http://www.kp-art.fi/jt/index_eng.html . You, too, can harness the power of Google. 
It's best to handle pricing questions directly with makers (best option) or via Private Messaging with the customer. Any pricing from a customer should be taken only as a very very rough estimate, since there are so many variables that go into custom pricing.
For what it's worth, the website has some pricing info on it to use as a guide.

Soren, I love that saber. Tell me, is the false edge sharpened? I have had thing for these swords for a few years now. It is too bad that custom is the only way to get one currently. Peter Johnson has said he would like to recreate some of these but his plate is quite full.
Anyway, lovely sword!!

I did google and it gave me one of the sub pages without the english translation option. =)

Soren that is a beautiful piece of work. I love the understated detail of the hiltwork. This is exactly the kind of aesthetic detail I look for in a sword. J.T.s work impresses me.

Hi all
Sorry its taken so long to reply to your questions but my second child (a son) was born a week ago and he really good a stealing daddys time :-)
Aaron: When I approched JT I sent him the swiss3.jpg and he was very hesitant at the beginning because he thought it would be too hard to make so he suggested the Sabre_1530 (from ”Hieb-und Stichwaffen”).
David: About the false edge I don't know if its sharpened and haven't had the time to ask. I think it is and will let you know when I get it. It should ship to me shortly after the 15th.

More important than any sword, congrats on your newborn son!
I appreciate seeing the pics of the inspiring pieces. I can definitely see some elements of each in your sword. I'm still quite intrigued by the floral motif - as Patrick so properly called it - "understated" but very well executed.
I look forward to your hands-on impression!
