Albion swords with blackened fittings?
Does anyone have any examples of an Albion NG sword that has had its fittings blackened? I think Christian Fletcher provides this service, but there do not appear to be any examples up on his page.

Thanks!

Check out the Sovereign on Christian's site. It has blackened fittings.
Also my custom sword by Jason Dingledine here http://www.myArmoury.com/review_jd_xvi.html has blackened fittings that I'm pretty sure were done in the Albion shop - they should be very similar to the Next Gens if so.

From Christian Fletcher's site, as Jason mentioned:

I got to see a Laird at Albion a while back with blackened fittings; it looked very nice.

I'm not a huge fan of black fittings as a general rule, but if they are done I think they do more aesthetically for "busy" hilts - designs with complex shapes, angles, bevels, etc. versus the same treatment done to a piece less visually complicated. What sword did you have in mind done in the black? Maybe somebody has one or knows someone with one to show you a picture.

BTW: if anyone can prove me wrong about the above mentioned tastes, please do :D . I would like to be more into blackened or blued fittings just from the angle that it is easier to get many swords with steel fittings and these finishes are often times help fighting rust on often handled components (which is part of the reason I am a big fan of bronze fittings. . . that and a seemingly odd fascination with gold as a color. . .)

Well, I do like my sword - and it is quite simple...

Viceroy
Casey Bartley sold a Viceroy a few months ago with blued fittings. Here is the post at myArmoury.

He also posted it on Sword Forum, with a few more pictures that bring out the contrast between the fittings and the blade. Here is a shot of the cross.
