Latest addition
It's been a while since I've added a firearm to my collection.....actually, the only other firearm I own is my Winchester .270 deer rifle. Anyhow, this was something of an inheritance from my grandfather who passed away last May.

My grandpa had bought this probably about 10-12 years ago, as a kit. Beyond that, I don't know much about it except that it doesn't work; the lock doesn't lock, and I don't have enough know-how to fix it....yet, anyhow.

That being said, I was wondering if anyone knows what pattern this may be based off of (the markings on the barrel indicate that it fires a .45 caliber round, and it is indeed a rifle (I can see the grooves at the muzzle). The ramrod is wooden.

Anybody know more?

You might be able to get a replacement lock from NavyArms. I think that is one of their kentucky rifle kits they sold a few years back. It could just be the sear. You might take it to a gunsmith and have him check it out. Are there any markings as to the maker?
Hi Tom,

The markings on the barrel read:

Richland Arms Co.
Blissfield Michigan
CAL 45
Black Powder Only
with "Made in Italy" stamped on the side.
