Ordered my bow
well since it will take 2 months i ordered it. its from rudderbows, a 72" hickory bow at 45#. Sad to think though...it will be the month of christmas before i get it and.... its barley even halloween yet!
Hi Austin,

I'm finding one of the hardest things about this hobby is the wait. . . . . . . I feel your pain.

When you do receive your bow would you please give us a report? I would love to hear about it. My husband has promised to buy me a bow if I get BSA (Boy Scouts of America) certified in archery.

We are anxiously waiting with you, Austin, for pics and a report!

(By the way, does anyone know how to go about getting BSA certified? What are the requirements? We haven't been able to find anyone at our local council that knows. :wtf: This question is off topic, so please PM me if you have an answer. Thanks.)
Well two months seems like a short wait for anything not of the shelf.
Some customs orders are closer to 6 months or a year or two :(

Oh, and this is for a custom order that is with a good reliable maker who respects his commitments as to delivery times: I'm not talking of custom order nightmares where you have to harass the maker for years trying to get your already paid for project finished. ( Not a personal experience for me, but there have been a few horror stories about long delays and promises not kept that I have read about occasionally here on this site. )

Fortunately, the good makers are much more numerous than the bad ones: It good to stick with those makers that have a good reputation for good customer service and to at least do a little research before committing large amounts of cash or waiting time before making that purchase.

Commissioned my 16th C harness in November, 2004... it'll still be a while. Yeah, I know the anticipation...

2 months will slide right on by, though... at least until you get an email with tracking info. Then you sit and sit and sit, waiting for a truck to come... an entirely new eternity.
WHen i ordered it i ask for the draw weight to be 45#. Do i have to tell them 45# @ 30" though for draw length, or will it automatically be 31" set?

I don't know what their default will be if nothing is specified - just that they will make them up to 65# pull, 31" draw. I'd shoot them an email or give them a call to clarify - no reason to just hope that something you spend good money and a bit of a wait on is what you want. My guess is if you do nothing, it won't be what you are hoping... It's well early enough, I am sure, but do it soon.
