Received my Caithness!
My Albion Next Generation Caithness arrived at work yesterday :D

I don't know if this sword gained much popularity due to the unusual design. I personally opted for it because of this very reason. I wanted something more unique. I also knew about all the positive feedback the type XII blade has been getting with the Laird and Knight. The massive pommel seems to give the sword a lively but stout character. I think it will be a fine cutter. :D The fit and finish is very clean aside from a slight wave in the fuller towards the last third of the blade. This doesn't bother me one bit and only adds a little character. All in all I'm very happy with this purchase and can't wait until the next sword arrives :D

Wisconsin isn't just about cheese anymore

Well, you got it! For the XII, I opted for the exceedingly recognizeable Knight.

I've cut a lot with my Knight, and a fair amount with the Laird. I found similar performance in both - though they are unique due to differences in distribution with the change in hilt furniture. Pretty amazing, both of them. I'd bet a good bit that the Caithness will fall right in with these other two - it's own subtle differences, but sweet just the same. Of course, we expect an update...

And the next one would be...? It never seems to end, does it? :p
Picture man! Albion does a good job of taking pictures but it's nice to get some raw footage of a particular sword...
Congratulations. I love the lobed pommel on the Caithness, it makes a great statement.

... for who? You, or me? ;)

I'm hoping to have all my duckies behaving here shortly, and finally pay mine out. Hopefully in hand by year's end.

Stupid DMV and high tag fees :wtf:

I'd love to share pics but without a site to host them on I have a hard time making it work . That should be fixed soon I hope.

Gary,
Can't you attach them to a post from your hard drive? When posting, browse to the file on your HD, then click add attachment. Unless you've exceeded your attachment quota, you should be able attach photos without them being hosted elsewhere. If all else fails, you can email them to me and I'll upload them for you.
Caithness
Gorgeous Sword! Now if I were to buy an Albion, the Caithness would be my selection! However, I have a list of Arms & Armor swords to add to my A&A collection. Though everything Albion makes is very nice, the Caithness is my favorite.

Congratulations on your new acquisition of one of the most beautiful swords made (in my opinion)!

Happy Collecting,

Bob

I think that's what I tried but I'll give it another shot. I 'll let you know if I need help.

Thanks

So what did the people at work think of this sword? My swords are delivered at work too, and it has given me a certain reputation for eccentricity.
Gary you might look at the size of the pictures: if they are more than 125 Kb each it won't work.

When I post a graphic I use photoshop and resave it as a JPEG at a lower quality to stay below the limit.

There might be alternate ways to do this or other reasons it's not working ??? hope this helps. :)

They're really cool about it. The Boss had to check it out up close. He said it felt light in comparison to his Granfathers original Kantana :D

Thanks Jean,

I'm going to experiment with this.
Caithness
Of course you are going to have to bring that baby to give us a chance to check her out!!

Congrats, man.
Gary,

Big congrats to you on your new acquitition. Great looking sword!

Roger,
I've had a couple of swords shipped to my work, the last being a original 1897 pattern British officers sword. Most of the chimes I get from co-workers is..."Don't piss Bill off today"........
