Hanwei Hand and a Half Sword
I was wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to handle or cut with one of these swords. I've used the practical (blunted) version of this sword extensively but have never had the chance to get my hands on the original version. In particular I would like to know how sharp the sword is right out of the box, how it handles, how well it cuts and if it is overall a good sword. Thank you.

Here is a link with a pic and descrition of the sword.

I have dry handled the sharp version. It handles quite well and comparable to the blunt version (maybe a tad faster). The sharpness is as it is with all Hanwai Products. Not overly sharp but sharp enough to do some serious test cutting.

About test cutting I can say nothing as I have never cut with this sword.

Hope I could help

I own that sword and have done a lot of cutting with it. It makes short work of gallon water jugs and pumpkins. I agree with the sharpness statement. Honestly, I have put that sword through hell and loads of abuse. It has a few nicks, but overall I'm quite happy with it. A very good sword for cutting and for the price.
Thank you both for your input, it helps a lot. I was wondering if the narrowness of the blade adversely effects its cutting performance, but I guess it doesn't. Also, how does this sword compare to the Hanwei Bastard Sword?
Cory, here is a link to that particular sword, it is only $199.95 and it is in stock, I saw it there Wednesday.

Hope this helps.
