Rusty Roman Ridge Helm is not quite so rusty, anymore, since I have cleaned it up some and waxed it. Seems a pretty sturdy piece. The Fifth Century spangenhelm was in pretty nice shape as received. Very little rust - the only thing wrong with it's condition was that the bluing was a little uneven. The nasal on that one is not really functional. It is very light guage steel and easily bent. Can't complain for the price, though. Both of these pieces are on my 'future project' list (which keeps getting longer).

I bought by first sword, an Albion Crecy, and it is sitting unopened under the tree at my parents' house and will remain that way until Christmas Eve. (can't wait.)

Crecy -- excellent first choice! You know, I did that exact same thing at Christmas two years ago; purchased a FirstGeneration Celtic LaTene sword, wrapped it in red and green wrapping paper and put it next to the tree (too big to go under it :p ). Merry Christmas everyone!!
