Functional Replica Saber Blade?
Greetings all,

I'm looking for a functional (will use for cutting) replica saber blade for a DIY project I'm working on. I've looked around on the internet and here at myArmoury but haven't found much except this one at Dixie Gun Works. Does anyone know about this one? Any other blade out there that would perform to the level I want if this one won't?

Thanks,
Hi Nate,

You could check with Scott over at Darkwood Armory.

Good luck with your project.

Gus Trim makes saber blades, and I don't think you would have too much to worry about in the performance department if you went with an atrim blade ;)
I don't know anything about the Dixie Works blade, but given that the assembled sword is barely over $80, I'd be skeptical to it's handling and functionality.
Oops!

I see some clarification is needed. I'm looking for a 19th-early 20th century saber blade. Nothing against Gus, just wrong time period (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm hoping to make my own Shasqua inspired sword and so american civil war era should be about right time period-wise. Sorry for the confusion.

Cheers,
