I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for blade-&-hilt combinations that may be considered a-historical, but would look totally cool. For example:

- A type XIV blade (or XII/XIV "tweener"), sporting the slight concave swell toward the base of the blade (like the Albion Sovereign, amongst other examples), mounted with the old Anglo-Saxon curved guards and 3-lobed pommel.

- A type XIIIb blade mounted to a bronze Carolingian-themed guard and pommel combo of Petersen Type K.

- A long (42-inch), beefy blade of type XXa mounted with a Claymore-style cross (complete with qatrefoils), a 12" carved-wood grip, and a beefy, Irish ring-style pommel. Yeah, that's a wild one, I know!

- A Thorpe-pattern falchion blade with a writhen hilt set-up, featuring a recurved cross and a side ring.

What would you guys come up with?
