Hi all,

I'm strongly considering purchasing an Albion blade from another forum member. It's a beautiful sword overall, and apparently is still in excellent condition.

The one twist is that the first owner engraved his son's name in Gaelic script for what appears to be at least 3-4 inches down the blade just beyond the hilt.

Gaelic script really doesn't fit with this blade's history, so I'm curious about buffing it out. Being new to sword-collecting, I have no idea if this is even possible without significantly damaging the Albion blade.

* Is it possible to do without harming the aesthetics or handling of the blade?
* If so, are there any resources for finding someone to do the work? I don't have any experience and am concerned about damaging such a fine blade.
* What does it cost to remove this kind of script from a blade?

Thanks for any advice to a newbie.

Chris
