I don't read German, so I can't comment on the text. However, this large volume is profusely illustrated (an understatement). At least a third of its pages are color or B&W pics with no text and show many fantastic examples of thrusting and slashing weapons (as the translation of its title indicates) including swords, knives, daggers, polearms and bayonets. The text sections of the book are profusely illustrated with period art, photos, and drawings.

This book is an expensive one and pretty rare; you should consider a price of $100 or less to be a pretty good deal if it's in good condition. Its illustrations make it a must-have for collectors of rare arms & armour books.
