Based on a series of lectures at the University of Maine by Doctor David Herlihy, this book was put together and published by Samuel Cohn, a former student of Dr. Herlihy. This book calls into question the long held belief that the Black Death was caused by an outbreak of modern Bubonic Plague. Herlihy's argument relies mostly on the lack of an epizootic ...

Of the many, many books on the black death that I have read, I must say, this is my favorite. Dr Kelly does an amazing job of sucking the reader into this book. Using vivid and poetic language to add drama to the long ago struggle of the black death, Kelly really made me interested in the material that he was presenting. Kelly also reveals a new theory ...

I really enjoyed this book. I found that it was well written and easy to understand. Mr Oakeshott does a very good job at conveying enough information without becoming tedious. As a new sword enthusiast, I found this book very informative and look foward to reading more of Oakeshott's work.
