Vince Evans Early Scottish Dirk

Original: Scottish, Late 18th Century

This dirk has a hilt of English walnut, featuring deeply carved knot work by Grace Evans. The blade is a heavy wedge-shape, having a spine 0.45" thick tapering slightly to 0.35" at a point 5" from the grip, and then tapering sharply for the remainder of the blade. A sharpened back-edge extends about 6" from the tip. The tang passes through a button resting on top of the antique bronze butt-cap of the hilt incised with concentric circles.

The scabbard is made of wet-formed vegetable tanned leather and is incised with decorative lines.
