Do you have any more information on that painting? It's quite stunning and I've never seen it before.

Yes.....yes he has. I was quite shocked really, when the man who bought it e-mailed me. I suppose it's like finding out that one of your kids has gotten divorced.
He's kept the armet and the saddle. He just sent me pics of the Easter jousts at Leeds. It looks like he's taken the black off the hat. I haven't yet asked him how he did it.
I just now went back to the pics. The saddle is white now too, and he appears to have had the stirrups gilt. I have to admit, I like the stirrups in gold!

Here's the basic caption info, with image number and provenance:
Kreuzigung Christi
Dieses Bild: 000511

Anmerkungen: Graz Dom
It's from this site, which many of you may already be sick of hearing about from me. :

Here's a small version of the full painting and another blued and gilt kastenbrust harness from the same work:

And, while we're on the subject, here's yet another light blue and gilt kastenbrust harness of the same period and possibly depicted by the same artist as in the previous work (the images are strikingly similar):
Kreuzigung Christi
Dieses Bild: 000718
Kunstwerk: Temperamalerei-Holz ; Tafelbild ; Laib Conrad ; Salzburg ; Mt:27:033-036 , Mk:15:022-041 , Lk:23:033-049 , Jo:19:016-030
Dokumentation: 1449 ; 1449 ; Wien ; Österreich ; Wien ; Österreichische Galerie ; IN 4919
Anmerkungen: 179x179 ; Baum 1971: S. 58
Notice, among a million other things, the saddle ring for suspension of the mace.
By the way, all of the images I'm posting here are of lower resolution than available at the site of origin. In many cases, the listing offers not ony a small version of the full work, but also detailed images of parts of the work--arms, armour, clothing, everyday objects, etc.
PS: Sorry for dropping the "a" from your "Mac" in my earlier mention of your site, Robert!
