Here are some pics that Christian Fletcher sent me of my new custom project. It uses the AT1593 blade which Gus and James don't have up on there website yet.

That's really, really nice, Jason!! Can I ask what you used as inspiration? It seems to resembled parts of a few different swords I've seen published.

Can you share the specs with us?

(Also, as a point of reference, on our site here you can attach multiple pictures per post; you're not limited to a single attachment per post as on some other forum software)

I wish that I could give you some stats but I just don't know them. I can tell you that the sword has an 11" handle and I believe a 36" blade. Maybe James Byrnes will show up and let us both know Exclamation

The inspiration was simply the XVIIIA.5 in "Records". Christian did the rest.

Man, Jason, I can't wait until you decide to sell that to me. Happy

On a similar note, I can't wait until Christian finishes my very similar looking AT1520!

Somebody asked about the specs.......

The shop 1593 weighs 2 3/4lbs, the blade is 36.25 inches long the cog is 3.8 inches in the front of the cross, the cop is 23 inches out.......

This is a longsword with the emphasis on two hands. It can be used one handed, but the long handle {11 inch handle, 13 inch hilt} gets in the way of use with one hand, and at the same time makes the sword come alive for two.

What I love about this sword, besides its superb handling, is that it makes short strokes really effective. Practicing with a good mat {Mugen Dachi}, tap the mat with the blade, move back 10 inches, then cut thru the mat.

In order to get a sword of this dimensions harmonically balanced, it took a bit of "pulling" nodes.......

swords are fun

That really is a fantastic looking sword... I can't wait for you to get it, Jason. Then we can compare notes with the 1592.

Here are the final pics of my new sword. I think it turned out quite nice. It's on its way and should be here by Friday. These pics are from Christian's website.
