Well done! Get the coffee ready before you start reading.

A book about mail... no, I haven't ever considered that, although I try to give mail its due in my work more generally; it often gets ignored as you probably noticed. There is a fair amount about mail (comparatively speaking) in the new English armour book... But no other plans at the moment.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update- I signed off the final printer's proofs last week, and printing has now started. It'll take two weeks to print the whole run, and then another two weeks to bind, so release will occur in the middle of September! Pre-orders will be the first ones out.

T

Is it still not too late to pre-order?

My pre-order is now fully paid-for. Hooray! Big Grin

On another note, I stumbled across the details of the Agincourt Day at the Wallace Collection on 12 September: now desperately trying to re-arrange my calendar so I can go...! Laughing Out Loud

Thanks Tobias, I'll order a copy. As I was leafing through "The Real Fighting Stuff" last night, a sallet caught my eye which is very similar to one I have seen currently listed for sale. I had decided that it was probably not quite right (mainly due to the low asking price) but I may need to revisit it.

Collector of original 16th-17th century European arms and armour. Would like to collect earlier, but budget doesn't allow- yet!

Dr Capwell's recent post, above — immediately above my last post, has a link to the publisher's website and the pre-order details may be found there.

I could not find an information how many pages and illustrations the book has. I know that it is not the most important thing but still... Wink

Hi Michal,

The book is 320 pages, and has at least 1500 images, probably more. I lost count a long time ago.

Production completes tomorrow, so pre-orders should start shipping next week!!

Thanks RPM!

200 copies just arrived here at the Wallace Collection five minutes ago. And I still can't believe it's real.

I wish I were at the Wallace for many reasons right now but it would be cool to get a look at the book completed. From the images Gwen put up it looks amazing. I am sure it is an awesome experience for you. Sort of the moment you realize it has happened and you have done what you set out to do.

Congratulations Toby!

Fantastic -- the final fruits of a labour of love, I have no doubt.
I'm very much looking forward to this! It looks even bigger than I expected.

Very disappointed that I couldn't get to the Wallace Collection today. I hope the Agincourt day went well!

Thomas del Mar replied to an e-mail a few days ago and said they are sending the first batch of postage. This can take up to two weeks.

Yes, I understand batches are going out late this week and early next week. I hope it won't take as long as two weeks for most people. But they have a lot of orders to fill now, I'm pleased to say!
