Okay this could be really old news (or at least judging by the film age it is anyway) but Media Player had a link to this film which shows the excavation of the viking ship of Hedeby along with some clips of the reconstruction of another ship. Pretty interesting stuff to me, but then I'm not really knowledgable on this subject. Anyway the film runs about a half hour, here's the link.
