Hi folks,

I finished these a while ago, and thought that I would share them with you for those of you who like the earlier period armour. Hour glass gauntlets of ca.1370 - 1375. They were custom built and though a little OTT for my taste, I am reasonably happy with the way that they turned out.

For comparisons sake these are basically the same thing but in a polished finish which personally I much prefer .

Hope that you like them !

Eek! Eek! Eek!

Beautiful, though I also prefer the gauntlets in the last pic.

VERY nice work, Russ! I've always liked hourglass gauntlets. Something about late 14th century armor really gets me, though my first love is still the high gothic pieces of the 15th century.

Saw these on your site a few days ago Russ, they are gorgeous! Though I must say...I also prefer the ones you made for Bjørn Are. Nice clean lines, no fuss, no frills.

Hi Johan Happy

Yes the understated plain finish of the polished pair are much easier on the eye I think. Probably that is also why I prefer Milanese 15th century armour , generally speaking, to the more fancy and decorated German products of the same period.

Regards as ever,

Russ
