Mac,
Is it my eye's going bad or the lighting or is the basket (other than the inlay parts) darkened somewhat. If so, did Eljay use heat or chemical? The more you post, the more "BRILLIANT" this sword becomes.
You lucky lad.........

Thanks, guys !
I know Eljay appreciates all your kind words, as well ,so on his behalf I thank you, too !
Best wishes to all that are in Eljay's queue for a sword ......
I look forward to seeing & hearing all about the types he's doing for you !
I know you will be pleased & thrilled, so do share the joy !
Thank you, Russ .... If I ever master this Canon digital I hope to get even better results ;-)
Hi Bill
Yes, Eljay antiqued the steel .... not sure what process he used,?, but I'd imagine it's quite similar to what Vince has been doing (chemical bluing/darkening than burnishing, etc). The results are truly gorgeous !
The contrast of darkened steel & engraved lines with the lighter silver inlay is just amazing, and really makes everything jump out at you (kinda has the 3-D thing going :-)
Slàinte, all, Mac

Thanks, brother Dave !
Yes, ye must find yerself a fine piece 'o steel to mount that nice ribbon hilt to !
I forget, ?, did I show you what my new E.B. ribbon & blade are gonna be ?
(Eljay had sent me a couple of in-progress shots to give me a preview)
The piece is almost done ! (the inlaid basket is actually last years project, with this ribbon being the 2005)
He'd hoped to have it finished and mailed with this inlaid basket, but things did not workout that way .....
Soon enough, though :-) Mac

Hi Mac,
I do believe that's Eljay's best sword yet... I really like
how that one turned out. Well done on aquiring it,
and Eljay, SUPERB job my friend. Good luck on
future projects as well.
Alex

Thanks, Captain Alex !
I knew when I asked Eljay to recreate this special sword he would do it justice, and despite knowing first hand how good his work is he still managed to exceeded all my expectations !

WOW!
Incredible. What an artist! Every time I see a new sword by Eljay I think the same thing; This can't be made by a man... This must be made by God! Hehe
Congratulations, Mac... A sword fitted for a chief!
Cheers,
Henrik
