Let's see...

I sold my Gotland and replaced it with a Caithness (wasn't planned that way)

I have a Maestro line Mair on order plus a Svante. Hopefully soon for the Svante Big Grin

Looks like there has been a good deal of activity in a lot of nice collections of all sizes! Way to go, people!

And Aaron, the amount of stuff you've bought this year is just sick. Think about all the other poor saps who can't afford those things and then end up reading about your latest additions... :-P

I couldn't even afford to pay attention for a good long time... don't think for a second I'm anything less than appreciative and thankful.

I'm more of a user than a collector, but I got my first weapons this year too. Lutel early Renaissance longsword, Windlass High Middle Ages dagger, Rudderbows flatbow and dozen arrows. Also, a secondhand butted hauberk.

Amazingly, I don't think I managed any collection changes in 2005.

At least not yet.

If I remember correctly every Albion sword I currently own was added in 2005

That includes
Baron (?)
Sempach(?)
Regent(?)
Jarl(?)
Knight
Reeve

Other weapons
A&A Dane Axe
Paul Chen viking spearhead
Norwegian Pukko knife
Possible axe from Eric McHugh if it gets here before the end of the year.

Misc.
Merc. Tailor Viking shield
Merc. Tailor kite shield
Olmutz helm from Get Dressed For Battle
Viking spectacle helm from Medieval Reproductions.
Mail coif
Mail hauberk
Various bits of soft kit.

Sold
Entire 15th century light foot harness made in the Italian style by Jeff Hedgecock
One butted mail hauberk made by myself.
Several A&A pieces that no longer fit with the focus of my collection
Several firearms to finance the medieval end of my arms collection.

The primary intent has been to tighten the focus of my collection and studies to the viking age and early middle ages.

2005 has been my most active year yet. The addiction has really kicked into high gear.

Sold:
nothing

Bought:
Albion Regent (with scabbard by Christian Fletcher)
Albion Mercenary (still waiting on a campaign scabbard)
Del Tin 2150

On Order:
Albion Kingmaker

I think 2006 will be very armor focused.

Altghough I ordered it in 2004, I got my Atrim DN1506 this year.

Ordered and recieved:
Albion Knight
Armourclass Cup and Ring baskethilt

Ordered, but not yet recieved:
EB Erickson/Atrim Proto Mortuary backsword.

I was hoping I'd be able to add a little more this year, but I bought a car, so a lot of cashflow went that way.

After a while, one year runs into another, and it's hard to keep up.... so I forget what all I got this year ("Did I get that one this year? Or last year? Or three years ago?")....

Well, there are some exceptions.... you can't forget some things.....

I must admit I had to wade threw the 77 pages of my posts in order to recall what I acquired this, soon to be past, year !
I'd thought I'd picked up 2 Vince Evans baskethilts in early 2005, but it turns out I'd snagged them at the tail end of 2004.
Anyways, here are the highlights with links to the original threads of me bragging & sharing the joy :-)

The only piece I believe I sold was an A&A Gothic French Mace, but here's what I added to myArmoury in '05 !

Here's to 2006 and many more toys for us all ;-) Cheers, Mac

1.) Eljay Erickson "Irish" hilt w/ antique sabre blade

2.) Antique regimental baskethilt w/Solingen blade

3.) Antique Horseman baskethilt, c. 1750

4.) Eljay Erickson Silver-inlaid Stirling baskethilt

5.) Eljay Erickson Ribbon hilt w/ kilij style blade ( and here it is with a New Look)

6.) Brass hilted Dirk by Vince Evans

My acquisitions this year were an Albion Knight and a pair of Mercenary's Taylor splinted greaves. I did not sell anything this year but in the coming months am looking to sell a couple of things. Got to pay for 2006's acquisitions!

Big year, for me. Well, at least I THOUGHT it was! Razz

Swords Bought
Al Massey/Albion anthropormorphic Celtic leafblade
Albion 1st generation Stamford w/ sheath
Albion Knight
Albion Sovereign (2: one all steel, one all-bronze)
Albion Regent
Albion Viceroy
maybe this year: ATrim/CF Borderwatch, scabbard & belt (semi custom) (ordered, not received, yet)

Swords Sold
Albion Sovereign (the all-steel one, after it BIT me!)

Related gear bought
Merc Tailor 14th/15th cen arms & legs
Armor & Castings finger gauntlets
Historic Enterprises arming doublet
gun safe

I think the next year will be focused on harness and equipment, rather than swords. Maybe some other types of weapons?

My story for 2005 could be considered a sad one. I sold many more things than I acquired. I'm making many changes and had to raise cash quickly, so even the very best of the best of my pieces saw no mercy.

Items sold in 2005:
Albion Armorers Next Generation Regent
ArmArt Swiss Saber
Arms & Armor Dresden rapier, dagger, by-knife
Arms & Armor German Bastard Sword
Arms & Armor Writhen rapier and dagger
Angus Trim 1563 Longsword
Angus Trim 1520 Longsword
Angus Trim 1510 (?) Sword
Bugei "Dragonfly" katana
Del Tin 2153 15th Century Sword with Eric McHugh Scabbard
Erik Stevenson "Floral Riding Sword"
Kolombotavich Corsair Rapier & Dagger
Kolombotavich Riding Crop w/hidden blade
Kolombotavich Stylet
Lutel two-handed Swiss saber
Museum Replicas Limited warsword
Old Dominion Forge clamshell hanger
Steve Moffat custom katzbalger
Studio M Polish Saber
Vince Evans "Lowland" hilt
Vladimir Cervenka Type 1 Schiavona

And much more including many custom knives, factory knives, renaissance faire clothing and accoutrements, and various other items.

Items purchased in 2005:
Del Tin 5174 Dussack (soon to be sold)
E.B. Erickson South German basket-hilt
E.B. Erickson SW11 British Basket-hilt
Old Dominion Forge clamshell hanger (now sold)
Vladimir Cervenka Type 1 Schiavona (now sold)

I continued to add many books to my library, though, and that makes me quite happy.

Ahhh, a man of letters. It's good to see other book addicts in this hobby. My book lust far outweighs my sword lust. I have swords that I'd sell in a pinch... books never Exclamation

Yep. I try to get that across with this Web site. That's one reason I made the bookstore. Speaking of which, if you're so into books, where's your reading list? Happy
