Hello, is there anyway to make maille more "wearable"? It seems to put all the weight on your shoulders, which can be painful if worn for an extended period of time.
P.S. I have tried wearing a belt over the maille, but it does not seem to do too much.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Belt it snugly, then pull a few inches of mail up over the belt, all the way around. You'll immediately feel the relief on your shoulders, since everything below the belt will be supported by your waist. Mind you, it will still only be *relatively* lighter!

Depends on the mail, if it is well tailored to your body, there is a lot you can do take the weight off your shoulders, if it is a tube, I don't think there much you can do take allot of weight off your shoulders. Armor, expect 15th to century munitions armor, is rather annoying and encumbering as a one size fits all or most item.

What kind of mail is it? How heavy? I never had this problem even with 20lb + mail, unless if I wear it without padding.

You can knock 5-10% (sometimes more) off the weight simply by tailoring it to fit properly.
