Swords from the 13. and 14.th century were seldom inscribed with such a recognizable religious invocations and mottoes (sp?). Some of the more appropriate phrases are apparently “TTTTTT” or “NININININ” (this could be much much longer). Big Grin

And my favourite: "ANTANTANTANTANTAN......" Confused

And you could always go for simple small symbols or a Passau wolf mark, which were much more prevalent than complete sentences in Latin.

This one is from Slovenia, and it bears “AGLA”, Hebrew "Attâh Gibbor Leholâm Adonâi", which means roughly "Thou art powerful and eternal, Lord." Very common magical formula for combating evil, it is usually found on finger rings or pendants.
