Arms & Armor Northern Italian Rapier
Italy Circa 1585 The fully swept hilt consists of three side rings on the foreguard complimented by a four bar inner guard and a faceted barrel-shaped pommel. The wire bound grip is crowned with braided turk's heads. The blade is nearly a quarter inch thick at the hilt and tapers to an authentic point and edge. This piece was custom ordered with a blade four inches longer than typical for this model, with hilt components modified accordingly. Overall length: 49.75" Weight: 3 pounds Width of guard: 10" Blade: 42" long below finger rings; 1.125" wide tapering to .5" Grip and pommel: 5.25" Point of Balance (PoB): 5" from finger rings Center of Percussion (CoP): ~27" from finger rings Has a black leather scabbard.
