Arms & Armor Writhen Rapier
Original: c. 1625, Italian. Wallace Collection, London Heavily roped swept hilt in steel; complex twisted wire bound grip crowned with turk's heads; three rings on the foreguard complimented by a four bar inner guard. The Italian original dates about 1625, though this style was seen as early as the 1580šs. Overall length: 44.5" Weight: 3 pounds Width of guard: 7.5" Blade: 35" long below finger rings; 1.125" wide tapering to .625" Grip and pommel: 5.5" Point of Balance (PoB): 2.5" from guard Center of Percussion (CoP): ~22" from guard Has black leather scabbard with decorative chape and a matching parrying dagger.
