Phoenix Metal Creations Back-bladed Side Sword
Venice Circa 1490 This is a quarter hilt Venetian sword. Two distinct aspects to this design are the steel grip and a wide back-blade with double fullers down the spine. The single-edged blade, made by Del Tin Armi Antiche of Italy, is heavy and broad enough to justify classifying it as a side sword. Overall length: 42" Weight: 3.1 pounds Width of guard: 9" Width of grip: 1.25" Blade: 35" long below finger rings; 1.375" wide tapering to .875" Fullers: 8.5" long Grip and pommel: 5" Point of Balance (PoB): 6" from guard Center of Percussion (CoP): ~24" from guard Maker: Erik Stevenson, Phoenix Metal Creations of Colorado
